The Trampery

We have been appointed in multiple capacities at the Grade II Listed 639 Tottenham High Road. Where, in 2020 we were selected though open competition to lead the sensitive transformation of the buildings community facilities on behalf of The Trampery - a social enterprise specialising in shared workspace and support for entrepreneurs and creative businesses.

This commission, is supported by the Mayor’s Good Growth Fund, and follows in the footsteps of Gort Scott Architects and Sergison Bates, both of whom have undertaken deft adaptations to the building post the 2011 riots.

Our interventions focus on the public areas of the building, delivering greater access for entrepreneurship and creativity in Tottenham to improve social-economic value within the Tottenham context.

It’s been an opportunity to work on a local landmark, a building with wide collective heritage value. The project will include a café and community kitchen to foster food innovation, start-up opportunities and SME support to improve local business opportunities and a members' gallery.

Through our engagement programme we have recorded local stories, actively engaged with local suppliers and commissioned local fabricators to deliver local agency, access and ownership.

Separately we were commissioned by Haringey’s Regeneration Team to test wider site opportunities as part of the Governments Future High Street Fund. We explored new Live Work models that integrate wider business support incubation. To improve local accessibility, business success and economic improvement within the borough. This commission was recently extended by the GLA through a Lot 6 direct A+U Framework appointment.
